As an experienced licensed psychotherapist of 20 years, Christine Hurst,  utilizes psychological evaluations  to help immigration courts determine whether an individual will be able to remain lawfully in the United States. The following are some situations that may benefit from these services:

Identifying unique factors contributing to a client’s psychological distress such as: illness; disability; professional, financial, or academic hardship; or adverse home-country conditions that would affect the petitioner or their family members.

Explaining psychological reasons why a client missed the one-year filing deadline; and detailing how PTSD symptoms provide evidence of the persecution they suffered.

Detailing the client’s psychological symptoms which are common for domestic violence and human trafficking survivors ; assessing credibility; and where useful, explaining less common phenomena such as ways in which men are abused by female partners.

Services

What does an Immigration Evaluation entail? 

01.

In-depth interview and administration of evaluations (2+ hours  possibly over several appointments depending on complexity). Typically, over Zoom Video Meeting.

On-going collaboration with your attorney to determine what is important for your case.

03.

Review of relevant records (medical, psychological, etc.) and include relevant information into the comprehensive report.

04.

Written comprehensive report that integrates our findings and give it to your attorney

Cost of service

How much does it cost?

The full fee for everything listed above and having your report completed within 10-15 business days is $1500. Payment plans are available.

If you need your report finished in less than 10 business days, you can pay an optional rush fee of $300. If you need to schedule an appointment outside of business hours (Monday-Friday 11am-6pm MST) there is a $150 out-of-office fee per appointment. 

We require 48 hours notice to cancel your appointment. A fee of $200 is charged if you do not attend your session or need to cancel with less than 48 hours notice. When you make the appointment, we require that you store your credit card information with us to hold your appointment. 

All appointments are through Zoom, unless otherwise agreed upon. There is a travel fee charge if meeting in person is preferred depending on location, length of stay, and meeting location.
